What is a "zipped" file? Basically, it is a file with compressed or "squeezed" files in it. Because files often get corrupted when they are transferred "loose" over internet lines, zipped files are within a "container" that protects those files during transmission / downloading. They are also used for saving space as the zip file will be a smaller file size than the original. If you have a file name that ends with ".zip", then you have a zipped file. How to I open a .zip file? Most computers come installed with a program called WinZip which will open .zip files for you. When you double click on a .zip file, WinZip should automatically open up, if it is installed. If no zip file program opens up for you when you double click on a .zip file, you can download WinZip here - www.winzip.com. Once you have WinZip (or another zip file handler installed), all you need to do to open your zip file, is double click the saved zip file on your computer. You zip file program will open up and ask you what you want to do. You will want to select "Extract" from your zip program screen and you can then choose where on your computer you want to save the unzipped files. Coco Bella screensaver file In the case of our Coco Bella screensaver, once you have unzipped the file, you will see a file called cocobella.exe. All you need to do is double click this .exe file and it will automatically install the screensaver for you. |
